My Ride or Die Drugstore Makeup

Hey Guys! Happy… what day is it? I’m so dang confused. My days are all messed up, and all I know is that tomorrow is Fri-Yay! We have a super busy weekend ahead of us (more on that later!), and even though we just got back to our apartment, we’re already unpacking and repacking for this weekend. And in all this unpacking and repacking, I realized I needed to stop by the drug store and pick up a few things before I could announce my suitcase as “ready”.

When it comes to my makeup, I’m all about mixing high-end and drug store. Guys, I’m single handedly here to tell you, you don’t have to spend $40 to get a killer highlight, or $30 on a lip kit to look flawless. And for every high-end item I have in my makeup collection, theres a drug store item that I love just as much.

And while some drug store makeup is No Bueno, I have to say, a lot of drug store brands have been kickin’ it up a notch. And with a Walgreens, CVS, Target or Walmart on pretty much any corner, it’s impossible not to love makeup that’s easy to get your hands on.

Here are my absolute favorite drug store makeup products!

Best Drugstore Primer: Soap and Glory’s One Heck of a Blot I LOVE this primer so dang much. It’s really really good, and I think it’s a steal. It hasn’t always been a “drugstore” primer, but recently, they started selling it at Target! I love this primer because it keeps me matte all.day.long. I love it so much, I wore it on my wedding day. I promise, this stuff is good. (I really like to use this with Benefit Porefessional… but I didn’t tell you that, because this is a strictly drug store product post!) Get One Heck of a Blot here for $11.99. (Click the link and order it online to get 20% off!)

Best Drugstore Foundation: Sonia Kashuk Soft Focus Satin Matte, L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte, Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Foundation Eeeek! Guys, we got a three way tie. I love Estee Lauder Double Wear high end foundations, but I can’t bring myself to wear them every singe day. It would just cost me way too much money! So instead, I found three foundations that I love almost as much. I love these foundations for very different reasons, and find myself reaching for them in different situations. Keep in mind, I have v. oily skin, so I’m always looking for foundations that keep my matte and flawless all day long. My favorite every day, long lasting foundation is L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte. It’s almost as good as my Estee Lauder, and I literally could buy 4 of them instead of one Double Wear. Sonia Kashuk’s Soft Focus Satin Matte is one of my favorite “date night” foundations. Why? Because it looks really good in person. It doesn’t look cakey, and it really does look like my skin… but better. That being said, I can’t wear this foundation on a hot summer day, or for longer than 5 hours before it starts to break up a bit on me. However, for those non-oily girls, I think you could wear this for hours and LOVE it. (One down side… it only comes in 6 colors. I legit can’t find a color that matches me during the winter, so I have to mix. Which let’s be real, so not ideal.) And when I want to look good in my pictures, it’s my Wet n Wild PhotoFocus that I run to. It looks SO.GOOD. in photos. I’m not even joking. It doesn’t have any flashback and doesn’t make me look weird in random lighting. I 1,000% recommend if you have any photoshoots coming up in the near future! Find L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte here for $8.99, Sonia Kashuck Soft Focus here for $12.99 and Wet n Wild PhotoFocus here for $4.68!

Best Drugstore Concealer: Maybelline FitMe Concealer I’m sure I’m not the only one to tell you, this concealer is BOMB. It’s so good. Even on my oily skin, it doesn’t break up, and it really is a perfect dupe for the NARS Creamy Concealer everyone was loving so much awhile ago. It blends so well, and does a really good job “highlighting” my under eye. I always buy it in Shade 20 (Sand) because it’s not toooo bright, but just right! Get it here for $5.49.

Best Drugstore Bronzer: Neutrogena Healthy Skin This bronzer is so beautiful, but super super subtle. I’m a hardcore believer in Hoola, and it would take a seriously amazing product, for me to change that. However, I really like this Neutrogena bronzer when I just want a subtle healthy glow. Find it here for $9.59.

Best Drugstore Highlighter: theBalm’s Mary-Lou Manizer Okay guys. I’m not sure if this one is technically drugstore, but I got mine at Meijer, which if you’re not from the Midwest, it’s like Walmart but way better. This highlighter is beautiful, and I feel like everyone has pretty much forgotten about it. I get compliments on it a lot, and when I tell people what it is, they say “I totally forgot that existed!” Just proof that sometimes, tried and true products are the way to go. While you can find it at some Walmarts, and even Kohls, you may want to pick this one up online. It’ll be cheaper. Find it here for $13, instead of $24!

Best Drugstore Brow Product: Maybelline BrowDrama Okay, so I was blessed with pretty full eyebrows ever since I was small. I don’t have to “fill” them a whole lot, and usually only do when I’m doing a really full “glam” type look. However, this does a really good job making my eyebrows look like I took time doing them, when really, I just swiped this weird little wand across my eyebrow and called it good. I don’t love that weird ball on the end, but I do love the product. No, this won’t replace your Anastasia pomade, but it will do the trick if you have naturally bigger brows like me! Find it here for $6.99.

Best Drugstore Blush: Milani Baked Blush in Dulce Pink Everyone knows about Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso because it really is an amazing dupe for NARS Orgasm. And while I love Luminoso to pieces, I love Dulce Pink just as much. And since it’s not quite as popular, it’s a lot easier to find. I like wearing a bit darker blushes in the summer and fall, because I’m still tan and they look really pretty on my skin. This one is STUNNING. Don’t be afraid of the “glitter” look to it in the pan, it’s not as glittery as it looks. Get it here for $7.99.

Best Drugstore Mascara: Jordana Best Lash Extreme and Maybelline The Rocket Okay. I’ve talked about this one before, and I will talk about it again. Jordanna Best Lash Extreme is THE BEST drugstore mascara you will EVER find. My lashes look incredible all the time. In fact, multiple people have asked me what kind of falsies I’m wearing because they look so natural. They are always shocked to find out that they’re my real lashes, just a couple coats of my Best Lash Extreme. Plus, it’s so damn cheap. Whenever I find it, I buy every single one they have in stock. I also love Maybelline The Rocket, just like everyone else. And mixing the two together?! UGH. SO. GOOD. Find Jordana Best Lash Extreme here for $3.99 and Maybelline The Rocket here for $5.99.

Best Drugstore Liquid Lipstick: Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit The drugstore has been killing it lately in the liquid lipstick game. And while there are a few out there that are great, the Liquid Catsuits from Wet n Wild take the cake. They look so beautiful and last so long. Seriously, I’ll put them on before work wear them my entire shift, eat, drink water, and wipe my mouth often, and my lipstick still looks fresh when I get back in my car at the end of the night. My favorite color this summer has been Nudist Peach, but I can’t wait to try out the darker colors this fall. Find all the colors here for $4.99!

What are your go to drugstore makeup products? I, of course, would love to have an excuse to go buy more makeup. #ICantHelpMyself

Like I said earlier, we’ve got a super busy weekend ahead of us! Tomorrow, Trev’s soccer girls have their first home game, we’re working the Tiger’s game, Trev is speaking at a conference Saturday morning, and we gotta get back down to Blissfield Saturday afternoon for his Brother’s Diaper Party and Sunday is his Sister-in-Law’s Baby Shower. It’s about to be a whirlwind of a weekend… so I’m off to rest up now!

Have a wonderful weekend friends. I’ll be back Sunday with a Weekend Round Up.

Xx.
