You guys. I’m officially in a Christmas Coma. Usually, I’m still on Christmas break, and we’ve just finished Christmas with my family and are heading to Blissfield for Christmas with Trev’s family at this point. But this year? I go back to work tomorrow and all our Christmas celebrations are already over. And I’m seriously so sad about all of this.
I love Christmas and the entire Holiday season. The whole world just seems a little bit better because Giving and Sharing and Family and Friends are on everyone’s minds. And when it comes time to take down the Christmas decorations, put away the gifts and finish up all the leftovers, I always get super sad.
And looking through my pictures from this weekend is making me even sadder because I already miss my family so dang much! We had another perfect Christmas, and honestly, I just wish this past weekend could have lasted forever.
Our weekend started late last Friday, because I was the closer at work. Trev was there to pick me up, I hopped in the car, and we were on our way!
I was extra anxious to get home… not just because it was Christmas, but because my Dad had surgery on Friday! No worries, it was a minor knee surgery, but I was of course still worried about him! (Because I worry about everything, all the time.) His surgery went great btw, and he was already walking when I got home! We got home late, and snuggled in for a nice, long, winter’s nap. 🙂
Saturday, we woke up early to get some last minute Christmas errands done before our big snowstorm started!
We tried a new breakfast place in town and it was awesome! Then, we went to the store to pick up the last minute things we needed, took a beach ride, and snuggled in at home for an afternoon filled with baking!
I made Gingerbread Whoopie Pies from scratch to take to my Grandma’s for Christmas Eve, and you guys… THEY WERE SO GOOD.
Baking is one of my favorite things to do, and listening to Christmas music, chatting with my parents and having my PIC there to help me bake made for the most perfect afternoon.
Saturday night we headed to TJs for a belated birthday dinner for my Dad before we headed to Bear Lake for Sparkle in the Park.
Sunday we woke up and were ready for Christmas Eve! I got to open my first present, and it was by far my favorite present I received this year! My dad and I love to Rock Hunt, and this year, he’s gotten really into it! He’s been tumbling his rocks and started making jewelry with them too! I found the most perfect little Petoskey Stone when we went Rock Hunting on Thanksgiving, and he turned it into the most perfect necklace for me!
Isn’t it so beautiful?!!! He wanted me to have mine early because he made necklaces for all the ladies in my family too. He is seriously talented!
Then, we headed to our first Christmas of the weekend at my Grandma’s with our extended family.
PS… how cute is the Christmas Swag I’m carrying? My Aunt makes them every year. This year she sold them, and people were loving them! I’ll be sure to link them up next year for you if she plans on selling them again 🙂
After we left my Grandma’s we headed home to get dressed up for church and of course, snap a few pictures! We had the most perfect weather for photos (grey but still kinda bright!) and we got our pictures in right before the snow storm started!
And right after we snapped that last photo… it start to snow. And snow. And snow! By the time we left church, we had already gotten at least 6 inches of snow! (Literally in like 3 ish hours!)
We’re lucky all our family lives really close to each other, so we were all able to make it to my Grandma’s for Christmas Eve!
We had our annual White Elephant Gift Exchange, ate lots of yummy food, and had so many laughs!
When we came home, we snuggled in by the Christmas Tree and waited for Santa to arrive!
On Christmas Morning we woke up and opened presents!
My favorite thing we got? A boxed FILLED with all our favorite things from Jackson Hole! There was pancake mix from The Bunnery, Huckleberry Jam, and other snacks and treats you can only get from one of our favorite places on this earth! (If you haven’t heard of Jackson Hole before, or haven’t read about how much I love it there, click here and get ready to book a flight West!)
After our Christmas, we headed to my other Grandma’s for Christmas with our family! We had SoCo punch, tons of food, and lots of laughs.
We finished our Christmas snuggled up on the couch with my mom watching the When Calls the Heart Christmas special!
And today? Well, today I cried my eyes out as we drove away back to the city with an absolutely packed car. We were all so sad we had to leave. Our time Up North went by way too fast, as always.
I hope everyone had an absolutely wonderful holiday! And I also hope that unlike me, you’re still enjoying a nice break from real life for the holidays.
Alright guys. You’ve got ONE more post from me coming at you this year! Look for my Year in Review this New Years Eve!
Until then, enjoy your last few days of 2017!
PS… If you’re still clinging to Christmas like I am, click here to check out all of my Christmas posts from this December! Also, now is a PERFECT time to make some of my Christmas DIYS, especially the wreath! Everything you need will be on MAJOR sale!
PPS… If you didn’t read my Merry Christmas post, than you don’t know where my Christmas dress is from! My Christmas dress is from Express! 🙂 I bought it specifically for Christmas but honestly, I’m probably going to buy it in every color now because it’s the most PERFECT dress! It’s super flattering, so soft and silky, and is perfect for any occasion. Get it here, for 50% off right now! Just be ware, I think it runs a bit large. I’m wearing my usual small, but it’s a bit big on me. I wouldn’t size down without trying it on, but just be aware it may be a bit loose! Oh! And Trev’s sweater is from Banana a few years back. This one from The Gap has the same colors-ish in it thought! And his blue pants are also from Banana. You can pick them up here.
