Hey Loves! It’s finally freakin’ Thursday. This week seems like it has been DRAGGING by. Probably because I was exhausted when I got back from our weekend getaway and never really “rested up” for the week ahead of me. Regardless. I’ve got a king size Reese’s and a Sprite to get me through the day because I’m the picture of health.
Today’s Fall themed blog is one that I’m super excited about! You know how on YouTube (LOL I know you’re all rolling your eyes ‘cuz I’m over here talking about YouTube again) they do Tag Videos?! Well I got tagged in the blog post version by the lovely Gillian Finn! I was SO excited when she tagged me because honestly, I think one of the coolest things about blogging is getting the chance to connect with people halfway around the world. (She’s from the UK! Check out her blog here. You’ll love it!) And because I get the chance to talk about Fall. Because you all know, I’m #basic and Fall is my jam.
So let’s get started on this Fall tag, shall we?!
What signifies the start of Autumn for you?
Without a doubt it’s when the weather gets cooler and the leaves start to change colors. However, when do I start pulling out my Fall decor, buying Fall scented candles and turning the air conditioner up super high so I can wear cozy sweaters? The day after Labor Day.
What is your favorite Autumn scent?
Eeek. This is a tough one because it literally changes every year with my Bath and Body Works candles! Sweater Weather, Leaves, Flannel, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, Pumpkin Pecan Waffles and Marshmallow Fireside are all my favorites and I repurchase them year after year! However, this year my favorite is probably Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow. I know, I know. I’m showing off my #basic-ness in all it’s glory today. You’re welcome.
What is your favorite Autumn color?
Burgundy/Maroon and olive green! However, these colors are always in season in my book 🙂
Are you a fan of a PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte)?
Ew. Apple Cider 4 Lyfe. Especially in slushie form.
What is your favorite Autumn drink?
Cold? Apple Cider. Hot? Salted Carmel Mocha!
What’s your favorite coffee shop and their drink of choice?
Is it illegal to write anything but Starbucks? I feel like it is… JK. I do like Starbucks, but here in Michigan we have a coffee shop called Biggby that I L-O-V-E. They have this drink called The Teddy Bear that is literally like a hug in a mug. It’s a caramel and white chocolate latte that is literally SO GOOD. I drink it hot in the Fall and Winter and Iced in the Spring and Summer. It’s easily my “go to” coffee drink. Also, I know McDonald’s isn’t a coffee shop but they have really amazing Iced Carmel Mochas! Oooo and one of our favorite breakfast places, Anna’s House has amazing normal coffee!
Apple pie or Pumpkin pie?
Is this even a choice? Apple. Hands down! (I’m not a fan of pumpkin anything, tbh.)
What TV show, new or old, are you looking forward to in the next few months?
Alllll of my shows have just come back since we’re officially into Fall now! Ready for the embarrassingly long list of shows that I watch every year in the months leading up to Christmas? Dancing with the Stars, Dancing with the Stars Juniors, Riverdale, American Housewife, Survivor, The Big Bang Theory, Last Man Standing, Superstore, Will and Grace, and of course, every single Harvest movie that comes out on Hallmark.
What is your favorite Autumn fashion trend?
Cozy sweaters, boots of every shape and size, andddd hats.
What is your favorite comfort food to enjoy in the colder months?
Anything warm and homemade! I really love my dad’s Chili con Carne, my grandma’s potato soup, and my Panera knock off cheddar broccoli soup! Oh. I also love to eat bread with EVERYTHING. Seriously.Every Autumn I find an excuse to put hot bread and butter with every meal. (It’s a gift.) I’m linking a few of my favorite comfort food recipes below!
My Favorite Chicken Noodle Soup
What is your favorite Autumn activity?
Visiting Apple Orchards, going to the Pumpkin Patch, watching Football, color tours, hiking, cozy nights in, new adventures, honestly… everything just seems little bit more magical in the Fall!
Are you a fan of horror movies?
NOPE. I haven’t watched a scary movie since The Exorcism of Emily Rose since I was in high school and tbh, its till gives me nightmares to this day. I don’t like to be scared AT ALL.
Do you ever do anything fun for Halloween?

Not really… we used to in college! Now, we both work and celebrate with our students/athletes and we live in an apartment so we don’t get any trick or treaters. (I can’t wait to have a house so we can eat chili and hand out candy and see all the cute kids dressed up in costumes!) However, we have a really fun tradition that we started when we first moved in to our apartment where we get corn dogs from Sonic and watch Halloweentown or Hocus Pocus on Halloween! I look forward to this every year!
What was your favorite part about Halloween as a child?
I always loved dressing up and going trick-or-treating! I especially loved the Halloweens when we had decent weather. (You know with Fall in Michigan. There were many Halloweens I had to wear my snowsuit under my costume!)
Are you a bigger fan of Bonfire night or Halloween?
Okay… real talk. I had to google Bonfire Night because we don’t have that here in the States! So since I’ve never celebrated Bonfire Night, I have to default to Halloween.
Where is your dream destination to visit in the Autumn?
New England! I want to see Vermont, New Hampshire and Connecticut in the Fall! I also want to stay at a bed and breakfast and drink lots of coffee and go to a corny Fall festival. Wait… do I actually just want to visit the Gilmore Girls set? Haha JK. But seriously. New England in the Fall seems so perfect!
Do you always forget about the clocks going back?
Nope. I’m all about that extra hour of sleep!
When do you usually start preparing for Christmas?
The day after Thanksgiving! We go Black Friday shopping at local stores and then we always decorate our Christmas tree at my parents house!
What is your favorite clothing item you’ve purchased for the Autumn months?
This year, it’s probably this sweater from Nordstrom. It’s so cozy and I get tons of compliments whenever I wear it!
What are three of your must-have beauty products for the season?
As the weather starts to get colder I always tend to focus on my skincare. I think it’s because I know that as my tan fades, every little imperfection will be a thousand times more noticeable! A good moisturizer (I’ve been using this Olay Whips lately and really loving it), a go-to face mask (have you seen this post about my two favorites?) and a moisturizing lip balm. (My lips get so chapped as the weather gets colder no matter how many times I apply my lip balm! I’m starting a good lip care regimen early this year and trying out this one!)
What does your perfect Autumnal, rainy day look like?
Honestly? I’m happiest when I’m curled up on the couch with Trev and Jacksy Cat watching movies and eating. Lame, I know. But after the crazy few weeks we’ve had, nothing sounds more perfect than a rainy day at home!
Guys… that was so much fun! And guess what? I’m TAGGING ALL OF YOU! But because that would take me ages and I’ve literally got the longest list of things to do this evening and only about 2 hours to do it, I’m just going to tell you to answer these questions, then leave a link to your blog in the comments! I know I’d love to read them, and other people will too!
That’s it for me this week! I’ll be back on Sunday with a Weekend Round Up! Until then, have a great weekend! I hope it’s full of all things Fall.
Xx.
