Weekend Round Up

Hi Friends! Happy, happy Monday. I meant to get this Weekend Round Up Up for you on Sunday but your girl was KNEE DEEP in clothes thanks to Marie Kondo.

We had another really great weekend at home. We didn’t do much besides clean and organize but it was so nice to feel like we were able to accomplish something at home! We love our families and visiting them, but I don’t think we really realized how traveling to help out or visit every weekend was affecting us. I remember ALWAYS being so exhausted by the end of the weekend and never feeling rested by the time the work week rolled around. These last few weekends at home have been exactly what we needed!

Ready to take a peek into our super boring weekend?!

Our weekend started out Friday as soon as I got home from work. It had been a very long week, so we ended it in the best way we knew how… with tequila! We headed to On The Border for some Tex Mex and Margs. We had the best little date night! After dinner I took some NyQuil and went to sleep super early. I was still feeling sick and needed all the rest I could get!

We spent Saturday morning drinking coffee and reading our books before getting dressed and heading to Dearborn for lunch at the original Buddy’s Pizza.

How cute are we in our matching hats? LOL Fun fact. We didn’t mean to match. He was thrilled.
Buddy’s has really great pizza (they serve the original Detroit Square pizza) but their Antipasto salad is legit the best salad there is. I could eat it every day and never get tired of it!

After lunch we headed to UDM to watch some basketball. The guys are so good this year and a lot of fun to watch!

When we got home we started the deep dive into KonMari. Oh boy. We did not realize just how bad our clutter was until we started tidying. We began just like Marie says to with putting all our clothes into a pile. You could barely see our living room floor!

It took us ALL NIGHT to sort through our clothes and decided what sparked joy and what we should donate. We ended up with FOURTEEN garbage bags full of clothes to donate and four bags of clothes that were so old they were practically see through that we threw away.

I was in a #mood to say the least when I saw the pile I had to go through.

We spent our Sunday folding and putting our clothes away and guys… our closet feels so much lighter and so amazing! It’s crazy what decluttering just one small part of our home did for our spirits. We can’t wait to tackle books and papers next weekend!

One of us was v. helpful the entire day.

We spent the rest of our Sunday grocery shopping, meal prepping and getting ourselves ready for the week! I finished my book and started a new one (the second book in the Peachtree Bluff series) and I rested a lot. I’m feeling so much better today but still have a little bit of a lingering cough.

We have another busy week ahead of us but are looking forward to the weekend already. How were your weekends? Anyone got a case of the Monday Blues today? For once I actually don’t, the sun is shining and it has brought my spirits up completely, it’s amazing what a little sunshine can do for your soul!

Alright my loves, I’m off to finish this day! I’m ready to go home and snuggle in for a The Bachelor! Have a wonderful Monday everyone. I’ll be back tomorrow!
