Hello Friends! Happy, happy Monday! My weekend was filled with a lot of really high highs, and really low lows. But this Monday morning I, still in the greatest mood because TOM BRADY WON HIS 6TH SUPER BOWL!!!
I’m seriously STILL so pumped! But I’m getting ahead of myself… there was a lot more to my weekend than just a football game.
Our weekend began on Friday afternoon. Trev and I both took work off early so we could get Up North! I hadn’t been home since Christmas and was so excited to see my family, relax, eat at all my favorite places and throw a bridal shower for my soon to be cousin.
Because we left early, we rolled into town just after 4. We changed and headed out to dinner at TJs pub, of course.
After dinner, we headed to the hall to start decorating! I made a KILLER balloon arch and was so proud of it! It was super simple and easy! Don’t worry, I’m going to share all the tricks with you because I know you’re going to want to know how to do it!
Once the hall was decorated we headed home for the night. We just visited and enjoyed an early night in.
Saturday we woke up early to head to breakfast before our day got started. We all rolled up in our sweatpants 😂 After breakfast we headed home to finish cooking for the shower.
I made the most beautiful and delicious fruit pizza ever! Would you want the recipe? It’s super simple and self explanatory but I think I’ve got a few tricks that make my fruit pizza exceptional. Let me know in the comments below!
Before we knew it, it was time for the shower. It went perfectly and we had so much fun celebrating the bride to be!
As we were finishing cleaning up we got the phone call you never want to get. Trev’s Papa, who we recently found out has cancer, was rushed to the hospital and wasn’t doing well. My parents are absolute angels and dropped everything to get us back to the house, packed up (including all our half washed still wet and dirty laundry), our car filled up with gas and have us on our way to Grayling in under 20 minutes. They also kept Jacksy Cat with them and now he gets two weeks at his “vacay house.” (Spoiler Alert. He’s literally so happy and spoiled while he’s there. It’s his favorite place.)
We drove on dark, icy roads North to Grayling. When we got to the hospital we were greeted with good news. Papa was going to be okay for now, he was just severely dehydrated. We waited until he was discharged and helped get him home and comfortable in his favorite chair.
By 9:30 we were starving and ready to get to our hotel. Luckily our hotel had an Arby’s right across the parking lot! We were both so exhausted/ relieved / shaken up it was nice to escape and just enjoy a little impromptu date night of beef and cheddars and basketball on tv.
Sunday we woke up, had breakfast and grabbed donuts for the rest of his family. We spent a few more hours with them before loading up the car and heading home.
When we got back late afternoon we had a bunch to do before the big game. We got our laundry in, grocery shopped and meal prepped.
And then… it was the moment I’d been waiting for ALL SEASON. I was so excited/nervous/anxious to watch my Patriots take on the Rams! Thank goodness they won because that game was BORING AF. Seriously. I was just lowkey anxious the entire time and trying to keep myself occupied with face masks and Wordscapes.
When they finally won I FREAKED OUT. I was so excited for TB12 and the rest of The Pats! Ring number 6 baby!!
How were your weekends? I hope a lot less eventful than ours. I’ve been such a bundle of emotions this weekend and now that I’m back into our normal routine and I feel myself starting to crash. I’m so ready to get home, have some soup, FaceTime Jacksy Cat (I miss him so much already) and snuggle up to watch The Bachelor.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another post from The Poconos! Until tomorrow…
