Good Morning my loves! And happy, happy Monday! I hope you all had the most amazing weekend… I know we did 🙂
I was feeling the stress last week and a weekend Up North was just what I needed. Even though we were busy, I had plenty of time to rest, relax and watch the sunset. Life is better when you’re watching a sunset on Lake Michigan. It’s a fact!
Our weekend started out Friday when I got out of work. We got a bit of a later start than we had planned and then ended up in a HUGE traffic jam. We got off the freeway at the first exit we could and ended up taking weird back roads thank to my excellent map navigating skills to get us around all the crashes on the freeway. I forgot how much better the long drive Up North is in the Spring/Summer time… it’s stays light so much longer! We made it to town around 9:30 and it was just starting to get dark.
We gave hugs, checked out my parents new kayaks (we can’t wait to use them this summer!) and then headed to bed.
Saturday we were up early because we had a busy day ahead of us! I needed to stop by my bank quickly and then we were off to take photos for a post you’ll see soon! I can’t share too much… but here is a sneak peak 🙂
After photos we headed to TJs to grab lunch and then to a few of our favorite shops downtown.
After lunch we headed home and we all took naps. Seriously… we were so tired 😂 I woke up feeling so relaxed, and hungry! It was dinner time so of course we grabbed Big Al’s before heading to my Grandma’s for a fire. It was so nice to see my family and sit by the fire. It’s one of my favorite things to do while I’m home.
We left the fire just in time to catch the sunset! It was chilly but that didn’t stop us from getting a pier walk in and watching the sun go down from the beach.
Sunday we woke up and it was Mother’s Day! We had a Mother’s Day Brunch to celebrate with my Mom, and Facetimed Trev’s mom too. We got ourselves packed up and ready to go before we headed down to visit my other Grandma for Mother’s Day. After our visit we grabbed Jacksy Cat and hit the road.
I’m always SO SAD to leave, but this time it was a little bit easier knowing I’ll be heading back that way in two weeks for Memorial Day Weekend!
We got home a lot later than we normally do, so we only had to to unload the car, get some laundry done, un pack and snuggle in for the night.
How were your weekends?! I hope all you Mommas out there had the best Mother’s Days!
Alright my loves. I’m off to work, but I’ll be back tomorrow. Here’s to a great start to a great week!
