Happy Monday my loves! And welcome to Savannah Said It’s very first drinking game. If you’re feeling a little down today… get ready to get Happy! Every time you read the word Happy, take a drink. HAHA Just kidding. But fair warning… I don’t think you’re ever going to see the word Happy this many times in one place ever again.
This post is exactly what the title says… A whole bunch of Happys. Why? Because there are so many special days these past two weeks, and I want to give everyone the proper shout out they deserve.
Ya feel me?
All of these happys, plus working on our very last big house project, is why I haven’t been around since June 10th! I’m so happy to be back. So let’s get started and play a little catch up on these last two weeks!
June 15th started our week of happys because it was a very special day for my favorite person. He turned 33! I feel so dang lucky because I’ve been able to spend his last 11 birthdays with him… and even luckier that I get to be by his side for the rest of his birthdays too! I had to work, but that didn’t stop me from throwing him a birthday party so we could celebrate!
This year I threw him a Super Soft Birthday Party a la Letterkenny 🙂
Next up… on June 17th we will officially be married for FIVE whole years!! It’s kind of crazy how day after day I see just how perfect he is for me and how happy he makes me. Whether we’re hiking mountains in Canada or binge watching old episodes of our absolute favorite tv shows, we always have the best time. We’ve grown so much together over the past five years, and I’m so proud of the little life we’ve created together. These past five years we’ve gone on so many adventures, we’ve supported each other through promotions at work, we’ve bought a house, we survived a pandemic and we’ve spent countless days making each other smile so much that our faces hurt. Being married to your very best friend is the best feeling on the planet.
I was pretty sad we didn’t have anything extra special planned for our 5 year anniversary. We originally wanted to do a trip, but covid made everything so uncertain, and so hard to plan. So instead, we decided to take on our biggest house project yet, and paint the exterior! We also planned a fun day downtown Detroit the weekend after our anniversary.
And our fun day downtown? Well, it turned into a giant bust. It POURED rain the entire day, most of the places we had planned to go only had outdoor seating, so we were cold and wet and our favorite brewery was closed for a private event. I’m still super bummed about it… and I’m hoping we can have a redo soon.
That evening we headed down to Blissfield to spend some time with Trev’s family for Father’s Day! We spent Saturday night catching frogs with Emmy 😂
Sunday was Father’s Day! We spent the day with Trev’s family in his parent’s pool. It was so fun! I have zero pictures of it though. Then, when we got home from Blissfield, my parents were here! We got to celebrate with a late Father’s Day dinner with my dad too.
The following week (last week) my parents were in town to help Trev paint our house. I couldn’t take time off work this particular week, so I wasn’t much help. But HOLY COW they did such an amazing jobs! If you follow me on Insta you’ve already seen a few sneak peaks! It is SO beautiful and I can’t wait to share it with you here! But first, we have to finish up a few finishing touches. (Like adding shutters and house numbers.) But, here is a sneak peak for you too!
Isn’t it STUNNING?! Like I said, all the details will come soon 🙂
Alright my loves. I think that’s all the happys I have for now! I’ve missed you the past two weeks, and I can’t wait to get back into the swing of things here on the blog! I’ll be back tomorrow!
